I'm a 4 days a week man. Anytime I've ever done 5 days a week for a consistent period I get burned out mentally. I'll do a chill walk 1/2 more days of the week and I'm actually quite happy with this setup. Also if I get asked to play a sport or do something for a weekend I can easily adjust to 4 days, with 5 days I'd feel much more restricted.

Itβs unironically the best split there is. Compound lifts, only a select few isolation exercises that you can rotate through, you hit each muscle group more than once a week, you rest on weekends, you have great recovery on off days, and best of all your sessions arenβt super long.
This is the optimal routine and only body builders or faggots need anything different.

Frequency doesn't matter. You just failed to equate the volume. For example if you did 2 3x8-12 bench days before you now need to to do one 6x8-12 bench day. Yes that's a lot of sets in one session which is where frequency plays a role, breaking volume into smaller more digestible chunks.

Youll actually be able to go longer without deload if you space out the sessions since you wont be working yourself into cns fatigue with strenuous sessions. Plus you can do more delts/arms and in a traditional program you have to choose between chest or delts more.
