Any woman telling you they gained a heap of weight they could never lose after pregnancy is a fucking liar.
My wife has always been at the higher end of the normal BMI range, 140 at 5'4. Not super slim, but not fat. When she was pregnant, she gained 20lbs. Why?
Because she kept eating basically the same food she always did, just a little bit more of it.
Then she had our kid, and kept eating the same food she always did. On top of that, she was breastfeeding (burns about 1000 calories per day) and taking the baby for a couple walks a day as well. She ended up the lightest she had been since high school a year after giving birth, 120.
Any of these women who gain ridiculous amounts of weight and "can't" lose it after pregnancy are 100% falling for the "eat what your baby craves" meme, then not fixing these bad habits after the kid is born, as well as sitting at home doing nothing. Add a lack of breastfeeding to that, and it's a recipe for disaster.
