I went to my college gym today and a guy I know from one of my classes was there, when he saw me he walked over to me, said “hey man,” and started a conversation about class before he went back to working out, then when he finished his workout before me he walked back over to me and gave me a fist bump before leaving.
Another time a few days ago when I was there a girl from my class saw me in the gym and waved at me and started a conversation about what I was going to do over break before we went back to our workouts.
Is this just considered common courtesy at the gym? Where if you see someone you know you have to walk over and talk to them or else you’re being rude? Or do you think these people might consider me their friends even though we haven’t really talked much? What should I do if I see someone I know in the gym?
