lentils are relatively low in tryptophan and threonine.
The amino acid profile of lentils can vary depending on factors such as the variety, growing conditions, and processing methods.
Combining lentils with other protein sources, such as rice or quinoa, can help to complement their amino acid profile and provide a more complete protein sourc

20-pound bag of rice costing about \(\$9.78\) yields approximately 151.5 cups of cooked rice, meaning each cooked cup costs roughly \(\$0.065\). A standard 1 cup serving of cooked white rice contains about 4 grams of protein, so the cost per gram of protein would be around \(\$0.016\).Chicken Breast: Around $0.03 to $0.076 per gram of protein, depending on if it's a value pack or regular pack.
Chicken Thighs: Approximately $0.06 to $0.105 per gram of protein.

You only absorb about 50% of the amino acids from rice. Furthermore you need a separate source of lysine. So you need to eat twice as much rice protein in addition to a lysine source to get the same nutrition as a source of animal protein.

it simply isn't released/made available due to lack of matching aminos consumed alongside, or your body's own intake regulation and digestive health, etc.
For ref, even beef is only about 80% bioavailable. Eggs are the most whole source at 95%+
Anonymous No.76721070 >>76721990
I would like someone to test if the label claims are true. Even supplement brands lie, I would not be surprised if it turns out most of that protein is actually fiber or just not very bioavailable due to anti nutrients or simply the processing method wasted most of it.

without combining it with other foods that are imbalanced in a complementary way (which you won't with a pasta), you can only use like 60% of that protein. that 40g of lentil protein is <25g of milk or egg protein

here's a barilla lentil pasta, it has 13g protein per serving and it says that's 13% of your daily value. seems 1:1, 1g=1% means 100g a day recommended daily value of protein? that seems higher than the dyels at the fda require
here's an egg https://www.nutritionvalue.org/Egg%2C_fresh%2C_raw%2C_whole_nutritional_value.html
6.3g protein, 13% of your daily value, meaning 48g of whole egg protein is equivalent to 100g of lentil flour
