I used to but back then I wasn't serious and was just going to gym with him as a friend. He ended up going insane and abandoned me to be with his college friends. I think he'd be proud of me now... I'm much bigger than I was when he knew me.

Because I'm not social and don't talk to new people. I do have friends, really, but none of them live close anymore. We've known each other for over 20 years (am boomer, 38), and at this point we're spread out all over the US. They aren't the gym-going types anyway.

Yes, my wife.
We love training together, because we combine two great things, each other and the sport.

For benchpressing she is the only spotter I completely trust to neither steal my rep nor let me die.
Hit my last bench PR about two weeks ago with 155kg for 3 reps, after that she told me she was very scared that if I didn't rep the weight she could not have helped me.
Still the only spotter I fully trust.
