is it useful for fitness?
Anonymous No.76736110 [Report] >>76736211 >>76736786
If you're brown yes
If you're an absolutely clueless day 0 beginner yes
If you're terminally retarded and incapable of basic research and periodization, yes

I tell it about my PRs and feel good about myself
Otherwise it sucks

I wouldn't recommend using it to program but it can be useful if you have dumb questions.

Yes it can give you a decent program if you keep asking questions and aren't completely clueless

when I weigh in and check bf % I tell it to remember. which is more convenient then keeping an excel spreadsheet or something autistic. and later I can ask him how fast am I burning bf % etc.
I also asked him to help me figure out the right shoes to buy for my routine.

It's like a blind personal trainer. Have it role play correctly, have it do a PARQ+. It needs as much hard data as possible about your workout history (prior programs, volume, weight, HR etc) and what goals you have. It needs to know what equipment you have etc. You need to give proper feedback about the program, like if things hurt, the progression in lifts, body mass etc. Trash in Trash out. It's not going to be beat a live trainer that can see your form yet tho (yet)

>take two selfied, one from the front and one from the side
>take full body pictures in underwear, again one from the front and one from the side
>show all four to grok/GPT and ask it to rate you according to the standards of looksmax.org
>repeat this multiple times to get a consistent idea of your standing, as well as your softmaxxing potential
No need to thank me

I had ChatGPT make a routine based on my specifications and schedule and it's the best routine I've ever done, but it's also pretty simple. I wouldn't suggest it unless you have at least a modicum of lifting experience, though.

It gives better advice than /fit, for one thing.

But yeah, pretty much like anything else you might use it for, it's helpful only if you're already knowledgeable enough to steer the conversation. If you're a nub then it's dangerous.

I could see beginners with absolutely zero experience and no idea what they're doing getting some use out of it, but honestly if you've reached 1/2/3/4 while being lean/without dirty bulking to 300lbs or some shit, you probably know more than ChatGPT anyway

it's the ultimate self-delusion validating GIGO machine, and every interaction with comes with a danger of Gell-Mann amnesia, and you absolutely should not get programs for it, but if you want to know something resembling what a redditor has said about fitness, it's useful yeah.
Anonymous No.76736288 [Report] >>76736754
It essentially obsoletes the gatekeeping that gym staff do to normies.

No. ShatGPT is not good for anything at all. Stop using it.

it's overall helped me a lot (i've lost a lot of fat with it). but i may have reached a point where it's limitations are showing. i believe it's giving me wrong info now

I always get the feeling in these threads that the people who are the most critical of ChatGPT's usefulness have never actually seriously tried to use it. I think everyone can agree that it's an imperfect tool and that people rely on it far too much but if you're not completely retarded it's very useful and I don't see any reason you can't use it to help you create a program.
>it's a validation machine
Not if you force it to avoid that kind of behavior.
>It doesn't know better than your average Redditor
Demonstrably untrue, and the benefit that it has over using /fit/ is that it's not as rigidly stubborn and autistic as /fit/ and it can be used to help you tailor a program to suit your needs (schedule, availability of equipment, goals, etc).
Be careful with it and have some idea of what you're doing and you'll be fine.
Anonymous No.76736334 [Report]
It's okay.
Dont use it to track workouts though or you'll max out memory.
Anonymous No.76736470 [Report]
I tell it about my routines and how my body feels in the aftermath of workouts/during recovery. Learned a lot about cortisol, glycogen, and anabolic states that way, which in and of itself has been extremely useful.
It's a tool.
It's not a magical orb that will fix you guaranteed.
Experienced wizards and cautious, virtuous souls only need apply.

I have /fit/ to thank for making fitness palatable to me but after years of on and off browsing, chat gpt was what I needed to finally get it done.
The thing about ai is that it's only really useful if you know what you're doing, question everything and always assume it's lying until it's given satisfactory proof

It's a glorified search engine and you're extremely low iq if you cant discern this fact and see m LLMs for what they are. You're NGMI because you're lazy and think it's the holy grail'

I use it to track calories and protein. I made it save all my staple brands nutrition info so it doesn't fuck up the values. Calorie tracking for retards since I just weigh and it calculates, when it starts fucking things up I start a new thread to reset it

Yes. It will give advice based on what people who have been training for years say on the internet. Great for noobs who refuse to read or follow a program of any kind.

nobody's perfect but I am really great at it.
gpt is also excellent for diet planning and meal prep. Again, you have to be realistic about your goals and it helps to tell the bot to err on the side of caution

What other semi-objective system is there? Asking GPT to rate you without adding a standard will just lead to it blowing wind up your ass because it's the "inclusive" thing to do.

The method I described is the closest thing to an objective standard for day to day life.

it told me that standing lateral raises are better than lying lateral raises at hitting the mid delts. after a wipe out and prompted with the same question it had completely different answer. as if it was pulling these answers out of reddit

I just use it to log my workouts. The text to speech is good enough to understand what I said when out of breath.
