That's why I said arguably and was only counting the fights among each other. Duran beating prime Leonard is an unmatched feat. But I'm still baffled about the tremendous KO he got from Hearns. It's like it doesn't make sense. That's the thing with Duran, though, his discipline was a rollercoaster. Ultimately his worst foe was himself.
Hagler never got the respect he well deserved while he was active and that still pisses me off. He was a demolition machine, but not the clumsy brute the press painted him to be, there was a technique to it.
Hearns was really fun to watch, his reach was like he showed up with a longsword when everybody else had gladius.
Leonard was anazing and smart, but he was a metagamer. He made Duran an offer he coukdn't refuse at a time he knew Duran was not gonna be in shape. Then there was the fuckery with the rules in the Hagler fight. But credit where its due, the rose the tge ocassion on his first fight against Hearns when he had the fight lost and almost blind from one eye.
And since you mentioned Barkley, too bad he had to live in an era of such talent. He could have been big were not for the for kings. Also, I've never seen anybody else eat 400 punches in a single fight and conplain when the figth gets stopped.
