You have the body, so how do you show off those gains? For me, it’s the drums. Next year I will have a small garden as well.

How about you guys? I’m looking to pick something else up that doesn’t require massive startup costs.

I'm a mega plant autist and my gardening is widely considered to be very impressive. I do herbs and flowers out front with veggies out back for more practical reasons. You get to lift a lot of heavy shit and use lots of different types of tools. People are impressed by your lifting at the hardware store/nursery pretty much all season because for the first time they just lifted something and saw you do the exact thing twice as easily and with less chance of injury.
Mires from the neighborhood moms while I'm out working aren't exactly the mires I'm going for but every woman who's stopped by has been impressed and asked me a lot about the plants. The only problem with gardening and women is that sometimes there into it themselves and you mog them so brutally they don't want to talk about it anymore kek

I live in Seattle so it's kinda easy to find hobbies.

I play Piano in my free time, lift obviously, I have plants with a grow light, I like to hike and this summer I bought my own paddleboard, which I used like 30 times already . I also really like live music, I saw Joey Valence and Brae a couple weeks back, and went to a candle light concert and Dimitrous Jazz Alley for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy last week. I also enjoy going to karaoke every week or so.

It's easy to be a dimensional male these days, just find shit you like to do .

I never understood that attitude. You can learn a lot from even just listening to people who are better than you at something talk. Even better if they let you watch them do some while they're talking. Honestly, trying to pick their brain is usually stupid anyway because they would probably know what questions you need to be asking better than you do.

Bro. WHY. What kind of knives do you use? You seem responsible enough to own a high carbon steel and it sharpens effortlessly. I’ll probably never buy another knife again, but if I do, it will be made of high carbon steel. That is after 6-7 years of daily use and bi-weekly maintenance; the shape of the edge has definitely changed but it’s still more than adequate.

Can you explain more about the second thing you mentioned? Does it use centripetal force a bit like a centrifuge? Why do you need that?

Here is my definitive list of things for making 99% of things you’d get at a 3 star restaurant:
>chef knife
>utility knife
>ceramic honing rod
>1000/6000 whetstone (spend $100-200 on it)
>vitamix blender
>mid range food processor
>microplane
>kunz spoons (large for basting, and a small slotted)
>a $600 set of 3 ply pans (stainless with aluminum core)
>nonstick pan for eggs
>chnoise (fine mesh strainer)
>a kitchen scale
>deli containers (cup, pint, quart and lids)
>kitchen aid mixer (meat grinder/ice cream maker/pasta extruder)
>hand crank pasta machine
>silicon pad for sheet trays
>immersion circulator
>vacuum sealer

There, now you can make anything you see in your cook books

It definitely depends on where you live and the culture I guess of the local groups. If you don't know how to skate, you definitely have to start there. I would even get private lessons because it's not something you're going to pick up naturally or with video help. The skating is part of the hockey practice when you're a kid and I'm sure there are drills as adults to some degree, but if you can't even skate backwards properly you won't even begin to keep up/not get in the way.
Once you've got a pair of skates and you know how to use them reasonably well, just show up to the Stick&pick session. It's basically like pickup games/casual practice where everybody gets together and plays on a non-serious basis. You will now need the stick, the gloves, and some places require helmet. When you're there, you'll be able to get a feel for what everyone is like and if you'll even want to be around these people. If they're welcoming and helping you out/giving advice without acting annoyed with you, just keep going and make friends with the hockey guys. That always leads to playing hockey somehow.

Gotcha! Keep it nice and stable inside. It's not a time for growth, and you could even use this as an opportunity to grow it into a more favorable shape for harvest. Just understand that if you prune too much, thats really bad because the plant is at its naturally slower state of growth. It can't recover and make sick gains without the leaves and it can't really grow them back because growth rate. Cascade.
Plant it in the ground, up near the house if you can next year just after the last frost. Dig the hole much wider and deeper than you think. Mix fresh soil from the store into an equal portion of the natural earth as you plant it. If you help it have a nice season and establish itself, it should be able to survive the winters on its own with no maintenance from them on. Some species of raspberry can survive -30F winters when planted in a good spot.
Anonymous No.76751351 [Report]

>Grow it into a more favorable shape for harvest
Fucked that up because obviously not time for growth. You prune* it into shape to prepare it for optimal growth in the spring season.

Shit my bad, I should have considered that. It probably can survive outside eventually outside if it's well established and large enough. It will need to acclimate to the winters where you are now which is a little tricky. Leaving it outside as it approaches frost is probably good in that case. Bring it in this winter and help it along with the cold at the end of this season, beginning of next. Insulation on the container for roots and wind block for the top is absolutely the right way to go when you do leave it out next winter.
As for pruning, it's not really something typically done for raspberries. It's always something that can help for upcoming growth seasons, though, if you have some time. What mean is that the plant is kind of spiky and I don't like when it's hard to get my hands in there to harvest. Think about where the plant will sit next growth season and how you'd like it to develop out. Remove small parts of leaves and stems to clear space and opportunity to grow in the way that you like. You can't force plants to grow, the goal is always to make what you want the plant to do the path of least resistance for it.
Pic rel is a quick example of one harvest shape. This was the plant's first season in my case so I went with a circular shape to get up in there real easy

As for the plants, that's a passive thing that happens. We talk about both liking gardening, we both grow tomatoes. She sees my tomatoes as they are and feels bad about her own progress (neither my choice nor my wish) and no longer wants to talk plants (disappointing for me as well as her)
The type of mogging I'm talking about isn't an active process. I don't just throw all my knowledge in their face. Only give advice if asked.
If you both were into music or some shit and you played just to tryhard and make her feel like something the cat drug in, then that'd be an entirely different matter.

That plant has so much potential, it's unreal!! Stems can get fragile during pruning and trellising so it's always a good idea to mentally plan out exactly what you're going to do and every little step of it before you start anything. Nothing worse than sitting there with a now fragile and partially arrested stem thinking
>Shit I wish I would have tied off over there first. Fuck.
