I mean even if (and this is not really found outside of anecdotes on the internet) finasteride causes the (mild) side effects often ascribed to it, there is no reason to be a complete defeatist cuck about it. Shit can be reversed, biological scarcity mindset stg. There are ways to restore libido even if Finasteride allegedly killed it. Finasteride has a half life of a few hours, as well as an effective biological half life of maaaaybe a month. It only inhibits one type of the 5-alpha-reductace enzyme lowering dht by ~70% at cap. So if we are to assume finasteride does cause low libido/depression/etc in some individuals you gotta ask why.
>DHT is important for these functions
There's definitely evidence DHT has an impact on libido and mood, however the overwhelming majority of people do not experience these side effects in the numerous studies on fin. A 70% reduction seems to not be enough to cripple these functions and dutasteride which inhibits both types of 5AR basically nuking dht, similarly, has many people who do not experience these side effects. Definitely possible that some people are more sensitive to DHT, but dht does return to baseline within 30 days of cessation. I'd also argue there's a possibility that rather than being dht sensitive these individuals are moreso sensitive to other hormones that are inherently impacted by higher free testosterone like estradiol.
>something about finasteride causes these side effects independent of dht
Other 5ARIs exist. Dutasteride, topical ketoconazole. Mechanism of action would have to be explored, nothing about the pharmacokinetics of finasteride lends itself to this theory.
>it just kills your dick because tranny drug ok!!
Then ketaconazole, minoxidil, and ru58841 then if you're truly just petrified over internet anecdotes. End of the day that'll probably be fine.
