I use a vitamix, I think a food processor works too. It's just dry roasted peanuts and a little bit of salt. You can get special peanut butter stock that's all the darker, creamier ones. You do need a lot, it's incredibly dense. 3oz is like 500 calories.

I have a vitamix too. I had no idea you could just blend that shit and get peanut butter. I was under the impression it would just turn into powder like that pb2 you can buy at the store. BTW do you know how to easily get the skin off of peanuts? I can only buy raw peanuts where I live, so I have to roast them myself and unpeel the skin off. The bags I buy don't have the shells or anything, it's just the raw peanuts with the skin still attached.

I don't mind the skins, but I don't think it's healthy to eat them after it's been roasted since some of them are close to charred. And I heard that eating raw peanuts can be bad for you because they can contain some mold that causes liver cancer or something which is why peanuts are always roasted before sold in the US.

To my surprise, they now sell peanut butter here. And jelly too. These things were unheard of here years ago. This is a city where I live, but the population is less than 15,000 and it's where my mom was born. I'm more interested in making it myself though since he said it's much better homemade.

When making your own peanut butter with the blender, is it okay to put in cocoa powder in there too, or will that only dry it out too much? I wonder if I should put in a bit of coconut oil in there to counteract that. Also does anyone know how to make jelly too? All the jelly in the stores have like 20 kilos of added sugars.

Kek...

Regardless, you can flavor it with coco or whatever you want, I'd do it in small batches in case you don't like it. You can add sugar to sweeten it, salt to make it more savory, and any oils you add will help smooth and soften it if it becomes too dry or hard. I'd stick with peanut oil so as not to change the flavor profile too much, but cocoanut oil will work as well.
