Why do natural powerlifters grow better than natural bodybuilders
Some of you clowns need to watch this video by Lyle

You watched Westside v the World that one time and think all powerlifters are fat or something retarded

They were fat then because equipped lifting was in vogue and getting as big as possible was their dumb method of getting a ton of compression out of the suit

That simply doesn't happen in raw powerlifting

Every good raw powerlifter is fairly lean and jacked.

Every modern PL program has a ton of accessory and bodybuilding work

A bigger muscle is a stronger muscle

Don't get psy-oped by these cable station wankers who only want you to chase muh stability on all lifts and would literally die rather than do a lift that requires some degree of coordination

All great natural bodybuilders like Grimek and Reeves have had strong barbell lifts. All great natural powerlifters like Bobb or Pana are jacked.

I think /fit/ would be more accepting of the fact & reality they need to get stronger if they want to get bigger as a natural lifter if you stop telling them to powerlift and just tell them to focus on strength.

I find anytime you tell someone powerlifting will get them better hypertrophy results than their standard roider bodybuilding routine that they automatically lash out and disregard what you say because you said the word "powerlifter" which automatically makes them assume you're telling to be a fat squatcel or something.

The fact of the matter is natural lifters need to get stronger to get bigger muscles, and this is not up for debate, it's just a fact of the matter when lifting natty, it's literally the single only vehicle for growth.

But 90% of natties will automatically dig their head into the ground and ignore you if you use the word powerlifting. Just say "you need to get stronger" and leave it there.

nta, there isn't a name for what I'm doing afaik. Well it's strength training but not just 1rm, size is "nice" but I train for numbers, ohp a lot and rarely squat (So it's definitely not powerlifting). I call it powerbuilding and assholes say that's just failed powerlifting. I guess I just lift.

That is what is making them grow. The strength focused part of their training is tantamount to skill work. Just endlessly practicing the lift far away from failure and any meaningful contribution to hypertrophy or fatigue. They pursue putting as much weight into their accessory work as possible too and doing almost all of it very close to failure that is their primary hypertrophy work. Re-watch the video and this time try listening to it instead of just only hearing what you want to hear.
