What are the actual arguments against drinking urine? Doctors keep stating that it's toxic and will make you sick, yet there is no information anywhere on what compounds in urine are harmful.

Urine consists of urea, uric acid creatinine, and inorganic salts and electrolytes. If you're not taking goypills that's all it is.

because it will vary from person to person and environment to environment. Big things will be water soluble heavy metal compounds and volatile oil compound derivatives made to be more water soluble as well. These are also broad categories but should help make sense of what's going on. For example: phenolic compounds are often cytotoxic, so your liver will produce enzymes that add polar compounds to them to make them dissolve in water (urine) so you can piss it out, and something like arsenic or cadmium hydroxide are just water soluble heavy metals that get exist in drinking water and food which get pissed out.

I had a bladder infection a year ago, apparently real rare in males, it made me feel low and sad and stuff, hard to explain exactly. I piss in jugs for gardening purposes (long story, but basically I dilute the urine for certain horticultural and gardening projects - its an excellent fertilizer). Nuclear hydrogen bombs using a fission fusion reaction process was discovered by accident by using lithium-7 as a tamper in nuclear bomb testing and was very misunderstood and still has yet to be harnessed in a scalable way for energy production.
Nuclear submarines were only believed to be of viable use by one single guy in the U.S. Navy who was demoted and fired for even continuing the research and construction of such despite the current popularity of them.

So the pathway to taking advantage of unorthodox or novel practices is never easy or smooth.
