1x/wk sucks for anything but legs, ill skip legs for a month just so the legs dont use up all the protein and even then its a begrudging leg session. I dont think i really need to be squatting much more than 1pl8 over my bench unless you count super wide stance half reps even then 200lbs more than bench idk about that.

it's the same exercises. I just don't want to do full body and spent 2 hours in the gym at a time.

Is it? I thought full body just meant doing the basic barbell compounds. If you don't want to spend lots of time, that's your answer. hour to hour and a half, three days a week.

The association between FB and compounds is very loose. If you are doing all the muscles then compounds saves you time. You can do every muscle, spend 3 hours in the gym and still be FB. That is also demonstrates an issue with FB in that you need to have enough lasting power for a session that long. I can do all sorts of stuff after I do squats. Is that stuff my best because I am gassed out? Usually, but not always.

If weekly training volume is the same, the split where you hit the muscles more frequently is better.
15 sets for a muscle spread over 3 workouts 48h apart, is better than 15 sets over 2 workouts 72h apart. For the casual lifter, thats all you need to know about training programs.

You'll get more gains on a repeating 2/3 day split as long as you hit the intensity & volume right for your diet and cardio

It’s just not optimal. You will still grow, but not at your fastest rate possible.
If you did 20 sets for biceps in one session, you will grow less than if you did 10 sets per session twice a week. You can only grow so much from one single session
