They've been brainwashed by the industry. I think it's only really known in the modelling industry. Like actual models. Facial muscle exercises done consistently(which most women would be incapable of) will probably give better results than plastic surgery. In fact i'd argue probably even better results since the job of all facial muscles is really to hold the face together and the stronger they are, the more toned and youthful you will appear because not only is the skin not sagging, the nervous and lymph system is better able to do its job with reduced inflammation. The trick is to get these kinds of results you have to be putting in the same effort you would imagine you would need to put in anywhere else in the body for them to be exceptional.
For oil pulling and chewing mastic gum I don't do that shit while watching tv or doing chores and shit. I look in the mirror or straight ahead at a wall and I chew or swish the oil keeping that posture for ages. It sounds autistic but if you think about it, imagine if you were trying to get a good burn doing hammercurls while walking around the room focused on tv or some shit. It'd be shit. When you actually treat it like a workout you can stay in that burn feeling all your inner tongue and cheek muscles deeply. Sometimes i've done it for what felt like 20 minutes. and to make it harder after a while, i started looking directly upwards while chewing/oil pulling to get a deeper burn in the muscles being used. Once i got to that point after a few months I was actually impressed. And that's just 2 exercises, not even covering all the other facial muscle exercises you can do for the whole face.
I can see why you gave up because this info, as lifechanging as it could be for someone's self confidence and beauty, will go by the wayside. This stuff is actually so blatantly obvious and simple.
