Used Bunn VP17 (take it apart and clean it) (โ‰ˆ$200)
Baratza grinder (โ‰ˆ$150)
Fresh ass beans from your local hipster roastery ($15โ€“30)
Some experimentation getting the grind right
>budget
Swap the Bunn for a Hario pourover (โ‰ˆ$20)

& good taste, so you know when you have it right

You now make coffee that matches or exceeds nearly all cafes, forever.

If it's sour it's under extracted and you need to steep it for longer. Coffee transitions from tasteless to sour to bitter as it extracts into the water

coffee is such a reddit normie hobby that you can build up a whole coffee setup with just random trips to your local bin store, lots of that shit ends up as amazon returns, I have lots of hario V60s and 100 packs of filters I bought for only $2 each.

I throw the whole filter into the garden and it becomes fertilizer, probably.
i just need to buy more whole bean coffee, that shit hasn't gone on sale at costco in forever, last year I bought like 12lbs of whole bean and I'm only finishing it now.

If it's too sour you wait longer, grind finer, use more water, use hotter water or use a darker roast (pick any combination that's convenient for you)
If it's too bitter you do the opposite.
Simple.

I use a cheap $100 espresso machine my wife bought me as a birthday gift, serves me perfectly fine. Not sure why I drink it though, I seem to be extremely caffeine resistant, and can drink it for months on end even and quit cold turkey with zero issues.

Its just like a ritual break from work for me at this point, and plus I'm one of those fucking retards that likes the taste of black espresso. I'll have a double shot at 630, after my daily standup and another double shot around noon ish.

Not judging anyone, each their own and that. But what makes (You) enjoy caffeine and coffee so damn much? Personally I'm the "wake up, shower, get clothed and leave the house" type, so I don't touch coffee. I can enjoy myself a choccy cappuccino once in a while for cake or whatever, but generally I'm tap water only. Biggest issue is that I can't deal with proper coffee, just too much for my taste, plus I don't much see the need for it.

Decent coffee taste good (imho) compared to cheap swill that comes in a paper cup. Not even decent to the borderline insanity that is coffee snob tier shit (which almost comes close to audiophiles in terms of most deranged hobbyists), literally just some home ground pour over coffee/french press shit with one of those blade grinders is a massive step up over stale ass pre-ground "incest in your cup" shit.

There's a Hadith that specifies that it's OK to complement to but not to stifle the flavor of the coffee. It's fuzzy at the margins but in practice the difference is usually obvious.

Cream is fine (milk is better), honey is just kinda weird. Still better than adding sugar.

Literally a French press + electric kettle. Whatever you do, never be so retarded as to drink anything that was the result of running boiling hot water thru as much plastic as possible.

Milk is too watery, cream gives the coffee a nice thickness.
Besides, milk is best enjoyed on it's own or as homemade kefir, grass fed whole milk only of course.

The water is well below boiling by the time it runs through the grounds, as evident by the fact that it has condensed back into a liquid in the first place. Also 2010 was 15 years ago bro it's time to move on, you can't stomp clap hey forever.
