i use a 5$ set of monitors I got at dollarama.

i did also get the dollarama cat ear streamer headphone knockoffs once but they broke within a week and the light-up ears just cycled one pattern very weakly (and required a watch battery to do so!!)

I'm fucking retarded anon I don't know what these are and that's why i'm here,
>Past gear and your thoughts on it
Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. They're good enough. Got different ear pads to make them wrap over my ear properly. Bass sucks ass though and I wonder if sound whoring in games like cs or tarkov is being butchered.

450SE were good, but the cups are too small, I'd prefer something that covers my entire ear, wireless was complete ASS, often stutters and shit, even when I have nothing else wireless around me interfering.

Need some new Bluetooth earbuds. Not sure what to buy and what's just overpriced brand name stuff. What are some brands to look at and browse?

Android Phone; videos and music.

idk, I prefer bass focused headphones and no pass-through/closed audio I guess.
>Past gear and your thoughts on it
I used two different sets of JBL bluetooth earbuds before that I got for free from my job. They where alright. Both broke and had some issue after like a year.

599 sounds quite a bit muddier, but some people will find it more comfortable because it has very little clamp, where the 600 line can be uncomfortable to people not use to it
the 599's use to go on sale somewhat often for about 50% off. There is also the 560s which is basically the same design as the 599 and it's on sale like 90% of the time so it tends to make more sense to get those over the 599s

Mentioned a few weeks ago that I bought my first non walmart headphone. Unfortunately I think I chose poorly, I went with the hyper x cloud 3 wireless.
I really wanted a wireless headset because I don't sit at a computer desk and having a wire draped across my room is really annoying.

But the downsides of wireless are a lot worse than reviews I watched made them out to be. At least 20 times an hour or more it just goes silent and I hear a voice in my head saying "connection lost, connection established".
It's so fucking annoying, I have never had problems with my wireless mouse and keyboard. I don't get why wireless headsets are so finicky.

Also for costing a hundred dollars more than my typical headset they honestly don't sound that much better. Like I can tell there is some sort of improvement and they went from having no base to a little bit of base.
But it just doesn't feel like I am getting the value I expected.
So I'm going to return them and save up and just deal with the hassle of wires and get a quality wired headset sometime later.

Is there a sweet spot in price for stuff that is actually good vs just throwing away money? I was looking at some of the Sennheiser headsets that ranged from 200-500 and they all seem like they are pretty good but what is the real advantage of a 500 dollar headset vs a 100-200 dollar one?

wireless anything usually sounds noticeably worse, and it's always outrageously overpriced for what it is
>headsets
You can probably just get a decent pair of headphones and a cheap mic that will be better than any headset you can find, even audeze's headsets are built like garbage and break for no reason
I don't know where your from but at least where I live I constantly see people selling mics from their failed podcasting/streaming careers for next to nothing and good headphones tend to start at around $130 ish+ were you won't have to worry about them breaking for no reason, unless of course you buy chinese trash like chinkifman

if you want something better than 6xx it's not any of those, you buy the 6xx because it's cheap as fuck and built incredibly well, and not a reissue of the 500 headbands

Running a pair of Sennheiser HD25's for wired use and Sony WH-1000XM4 for wireless use. Great combo, never disappointed. For the Sony's, just use the EQ profile from the headphones.com review of them and they sound great. Noise cancelling still top tier.

all of them are tuned like garbage and ear rape you with treble. On top of that the voice coils have been known to break for no reason and are almost unfixable without replacing the driver. To add to that the popular models(770/880/990) don't even have detachable cables in 2025. the 880/990 are pointless garbage tier but the dt 770 can sometimes be the only decent option for cheap closed backs, especially if you are unwilling to buy used

The clamping force can be adjusted by bending the metal part of the headband, pic related. Also you don't get used to it, it just reduces by itself over time.
>560S
Has higher clamp force than 599 and it's all plastic so can't be adjusted.

I don't get where that meme is coming from. Yes, it's old, but it's still good by today's standards. None of the headphones you listed are really superior.

Classic Sennheiser DF-tuned openbacks are never obsolete. In theory you can buy HD580 Precision from the year 1993 and it will perform on par with their latest releases, give or take within the unit and measurement variation.
>>105570196
990s are fine-ish with very worn pads but at this price point you'd be way better off with 560s
