My desktop idles at 50W, some mild activities easily bring it to 80-100W. Let's assume 10 vs. 100W typical usage, times 8 hours per day and 10 years that you can use a PC, that's 2630 kWh. The amount of energy you save is more than the price of the mac itself. This is not about a dollar on your utility bill, this is about hundreds of dollars.
