I'm probably going to purchase this one to replace my old laptop.

What does /g/ think of Asus devices? If you have this model let me know about it.

I have a Zenbook that just died after 26 months, 2 months after the warranty expired. The motherboard replacement would cost almost as much as a new laptop. Never buying an asus laptop again.

When they fuck up, they fuck up bad (see motherboards burning 7xxx Ryzen CPUs).
When their fuck up is exposed, they will either ignore or deny it.
When your Asus is done fucking up, they will do everything in their power to deny you warranty, or outright ignore you.
Barely work with linux, if that's of any concern.
Other than that I have nothing to add.

Oh wait, it's ARM-based? Yeah, no.
There's only one ARM-based laptop worth getting, and it's certainly not based on Snapdragon.

poor build quality and quality control, even poorer support. if you get one that works then its probably fine but if you get one that doesn't you're pretty fucked

I used to run an Asus Vivobook on a daily basis. It had its fair share of problems:

Keyboard is very weak. Keycaps break easily and some keys might cease functioning completely (though rarer). Some keys can give double input and others occasionally fail to input.
Jack port is weak, breaks easily and then it ends up with bad contact where any slight movement in the cable near the port will disconnect your audio.
Faulty USB port that has bad contact. Whatever is connected to it auto disconnects at the slightest movement or you have to apply pressure for it to even connect.

Despite everything, the internal hardware was very durable, the case was sturdy and the hinges were good while RAM, battery, etc were swappable. Overall I would try to look for something more durable and repairable like business dell and thinkpads, just investigate well because nowadays even business laptops can have their own share of issues.
