Just got rid of Brave Manifest V3 spyware and installed LibreWolf and NoScript and uBlock Origin. What other addons are handy and a must for you and your own needs for browsing the web?

Redirector. I currently use it to redirect Xitter posts to Xcancel. Maybe there's some way to do it without the extension, but I don't know shit about webdev.

Brave uses Manifest V3 because it's hardcoded into the engine. Manifest V3 was specifically coded to make it harder to prevent addons from blocking fingerprinting, so Brave can't be trusted anymore ever since Manifest V3. Brave has a lot of telemetry spyware issues.

I'll gladly see a hundred racist people be pissed and leave if that makes only a single person from a disadvantaged / minority group feel safer.

For starters, you don't need extensions to make a search engine your default. Firefox has the option to add custom search engines and they work just like the built-in ones. I can even make 4chan search my default search engine if I want.

You just click on the search field on the page you want and then click on the little "+ with a looking glass" button at the end of your url bar. You can then even add a keyword shortcut for it. In some situations you have to save it as a bookmark first.

>In some situations you have to save it as a bookmark first.
By right clicking on the search field and clicking the "Add a Keyword for this Search" button in the context menu I mean. In 99% of cases it's straightforward though. I've even used it to search individual, all or even multiple (but not all) boards in the 4chan archives.

Also, my bad, the green icon you have to click is at the start of the search bar, not at the end of the url bar. I need to get my eyes checked. You click the icon then click it again in the new popup window to add the custom search engine.

Total disinfo. Brave Shields are build into the browser itself and don't rely on MV2 or MV3. Furthermore, that article has been completely debunked:

>Auto-updates
Windows problem, Brave doesn't auto-update on Linux
>Brave has built-in telemetry
P3A removes your IP address from the requests, doesn't collect personal information, the list of metrics is public, the code is open source, etc., can be disabled with one click
>Brave Today
Opt-in
>SafeBrowsing
SafeBrowsing works locally and all requests (when there's a match and to download the database) are proxied from their own servers, also can be disabled with one click
>Brave Rewards
Opt-in
>Miscellaneous requests worth noting
Certificate revocation, filter lists and component updates, not spyware

I can't go without mouse gestures and some kind of tree style tabs. I'm using Gesturefy and Sidebery at the moment. I realize Firefox has gotten vertical tabs not too long ago, but I haven't bothered to try them yet.

I'm more interested in and find it
rather strange that Librewolf and other
browser hardening methods, have not found
a way to block IP addresses from being
shown/seen by websites like Amazon, eBay etc.
if you were to visit these sites, they automatically
see your geo location based on your IP

You don't need an extension for this. Just add their filter list to UBlock Origin. The extension is just adding unnecessary bloat.
