linux doesnt work, but gnome is the best chance it has at one day working. imagine unironically thinking any other DE can compare, cosmic, cinnamon are just shitty forks, like waterfox or floorp to firefox, and xfce is dead and abandoned, while KDE just krashed as you read my post

Same, it's unreal seeing how much it devolved over time, Gnome2 was my favorite DE at the time, i even liked the first rollout of gnome-shell but now? It's unrecognizable.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MATE_(desktop_environment)
> MATE was criticized for having no Wayland support but in version 1.28 Wayland support was "initially added". Some users are now sticking more to the Wayland support, as Wayland has significant improvements since.

It's started going shit when canonical ditched gnome for unity and a "war" started between the twos.

I use GNOME with Wayland for my laptop because it unironically does just work for me. The touch gestures enabled by default are nice and more responsive than when I used the X version with libinput-gestures.
