Does anyone go back to 2000s tech occasionally? Like no tablets, smartphone, etc just a desktop, dvd, etc.

you don't need to go back to 2000s tech to do that.

>Desktop
>E-reader
>No phone
>No tablet
>Watch
>3DS
That's my current setup and apart from the 3DS you could replicate it even in the late 90s

I just wish I wasnt forced to use a smartphone (or have a fully controllable one with Linux), right now they are evil spy devices.

I also wish bitmap fonts were more supported.

I also wish there was good stuff on TV.

I wish everything wouldn't break in 1 or 2 years.

>no GPU?
One card is definitely convenient, but at the end of the day, a GPU is just a display adapter, 3D accelerator and media encoder/decoder; you could get individual cards for those

mice and game controllers
which are both from Logitech, what a coincidence. I wonder why I keep buying Logitech desu

but other companies sabotage your shit in the factory, or lock features behind paywalls. nothing is comfy anymore, everything is evil

Who is cancelling you? The only people I see being cancelled are "influencers".

As an anecdote, I had the program Spacewar installed on Steam because I was experimenting with the steam idler, and installing random games from the command line.
Spacewar is associated with piracy, and you have absolutely no idea how batshit crazy people on the Steam forums go when they see Spacewar in your profile. They refuse to believe you haven't pirated games and think you should burn forever in heck for having Spacewar.

Every other day I consider throwing my smartphone to the river and setting up my computer so it automatically disconnects from the internet after a couple of hours. Do E-Readers count as 2000s tech, in any case?

I do it all the time. My cell phone is a cheap flip phone and the PC I'm posting from is a Dell prebuilt from 2003.

Does your job require you to have a smart phone? Because if it doesn't you can totally live without one. Just do your banking in person.

Why would you do that when you can use internet banking?
