Is the basic functionality behind (social) websites ever going to change?

Every site from 4chan to Tiktok be like
>register user account so you can start posting posts
>posts are either part of a thread or independent
>users can form their subcommunities that are called "discord servers", "subreddits", "boards" etc. but it's all the same shit

Websites keep re-branding these ancient dynamics with new words but nothing ever really changes. Every exciting new site is just "make an account and start posting text, jpg files and mp4 files". We haven't realized it, but online use has remained stagnant for over 25 years. That's a long time to be doing the same thing.
Are we gonna post holograms next?

Kill off www entirely. It servers no practical purpose. It was nothing but a capitalist ruse to make us sit passively in front of screens, generating behavioral data, thinking we will get cake.
Think back on your Internet use. What do you get out of it? Absolutely nothing. Every discussion online is meaningless, even this one. You have this illusion that not reading reddit will cause you to "miss out" on something, but it's not true. Nothing important has ever been posted on the Internet and I encourage you to debunk this. Show me a social media happening that I shouldn't have missed for the world.
Every online friend is an expendable database entry, you'll never meet them anyway and even if you did, you would of made more friends if the web didn't exist.

As of right now, the Internet is not an extension of our lives, it's a distraction that doesn't enhance the human experience.
If the www wants to survive, it needs to fix this major flaw.

I agree this is a limitation of basically every site, but the only way to really subvert this paradigm is to go beyond the web browser. Virtual words and pubnix servers are interesting but quite niche

I don't think any change to how websites work will fix this desu. I've really focused on offline/irl activities a lot more recently and haven't really missed the internet, its fun to learn new shit but the ratio of worthwhile finds and time spent is never worth it. The scary part to me is even if I disconnected my internet forever, I could still download enough wikipedia articles, forum dumps and web pages to last me my whole life going down rabbitholes. Spending time away from the computer is really the best way

Most people dont understand how much content they actually need. When I was a kid, I owned 2 VHS tapes and I just replayed them over and over, never getting bored. This is why I have perspective today. The infinitely expanding nature of the Internet has given people this "FOMO" syndrome where they think they must be terminally online so they wont miss out on something.

OP is a dumb schizo but he's correct that the web is a massive waste of time that really only serves to funnel people into tribalist subcommunities based on frivolous and ultimately pointless interests rather than actually connecting anyone.
