I don't think the total cost of ownership is bigger for Linux than for Windows. People tend to forget how much time and money they spent on learning Windows and therefore do not want to learn Linux any more. But people who start from zero would probably have a lower TCO using/learning Linux than Windows, especially nowadays that Linux advanced so much

I long for day where all datacenters blow up forever.

It's just a fantasy, but it makes me feel good.

I can run local AI on hardware from 3 generations ago. Being one generation behind doesn't mean what some people think it means.

China doesn't even have a chance. They don't have safe spaces, pronouns, DEI hires, or pride months.

What not all people know is that China is "buying" scientists en masse (including, of course, AI researchers), offering them generous salaries and a lot of benefits

American cities are crime ridden shitholes and everyone knows it now so most Europeans and Chinese aren't willing to come here anymore. China has also gotten very competitive with FAGMAN salaries.

It has nothing to do with the number of researchers in China, and everything to do with the ratio of White/brown researchers in the US. Jews and their pawns have cut the US tech industry to the bone. We are way past the point of no return; it's impossible to recover before China overtakes us, and once they do, US companies will fail to compete on price even with the cheap jeet labor.

If the goal is actually attaining AGI & super intelligence. It's inevitable.
The issue is that US AI doesn't want to be Open, even if they do put it in their name. They don't want to share research or work together so they'll fall behind. The only thing they have going for them is compute and buying up companies.

America also just does not fucking learn. They think that by shaming the Chinese and restricting them access that they'll just stop, but they have repeatedly demonstrated that they will not just sit back and take it in the ass. They instead work on building and designing their own products, leveraging what people learn at foreign universities.
Even that started to dry up too because their universities improved. Now you've got people doing the apolitical grift on the tubes to cry about how hard it is to manufacture things in their own country and how China are the ones who can make the tooling like as if for some reason they just completely ignored the past 40-45 years of neoliberal economics they've been worshipping.

Export restrictions and sanctions don't work on a people who have goals, morals and values.
There'll always be weak links to exploit, but that doesn't always scale.

No, they wont.
China can't copy what does not exist. Even more so without a friendly administration to help them.
