I wish apple made modular computers for their desktop systems. I know their memory is soldered, but you should be able to buy soldered memory, gpu and cpu, with main board. I'd like to buy mac studio, but knowing m6 will be on 2nm architecture fucks me over.

Basically you are locked into buying cheapest mac studio, and selling it when the new studio comes out. Instead of replacing cpu/gpu/memory.
If you buy the most powerful m4 max right now your machine will be basically weaker than basic m6 studio.
