Tech has been stagnating since 2012. AI is an exception. Prove me wrong.

the only reason "ai" is the way it is now is because of advancements in computing

AI is stagnating, tho. Most of "advancements" are a sham and corporate sludge produced to attract investors and brainlets.

They want to replace the internet with AI so you'll never get any information that's not approved by them.

AI puts a whole bunch of bullshit out into the internet, then it gets fed back into itself and spirals into complete degradation. AI is done.

This.
AI is just another layer of obfuscation between user and information.

It's not that it's been stagnant so much as the market keeps rejecting new things that came out or were greatly improved since 2012
>VR headsets are improved massively, most people quit caring after about two years, most consumers of said headsets end up being either VRChat addicts or gooners (or both)
>3DTV's become a thing, again they're around for a year but people decide they don't need them for watching their redbox slop
>Google Glass is introduced, rejected by society for being a privacy breach, people get punched in the face for wearing it. Meta is currently trying to reintroduce the concept by selling it through giant nerd glasses that look like shit
>Raytracing becomes accessible, but the visual improvements are so marginal that most people don't care, especially since the quality of AAA games tanked due to the focus on graphical improvements
There's a bunch more examples. I'm not shocked that zoomers don't remember about half this shit since it all flopped despite being major technical improvements. AI is basically the first new tech in a long time to not flop after 2-3 years of being the cool new gadget everyone's trying out, which is why every major company is jumping on it. But you have to wonder how much of AI's success is because Google kneecapped their own search results after covid for no good reason.

Apple's approach to LLM's is the most rational, dunking on the other retards with papers like

I hope they will win

AI is special but apart from Nvidia you can't really invest in it.

Before Obama, companies would IPO early on and there was a chance to be early in something like Google or Facebook.
Obama changed the law so big companies no longer have to IPO, so they only go public late stage when original investors are looking for exit liquidity (retail baggies).

I would buy OpenAI stock. I would probably even buy xAI stock if it was listed.
And if there's some sort of dot-com crash I would go all in after the crash, just buy AI stonks with all of my disposable income until it recovers.

90% of stock trading is literally done by bots scraping internet. It's the reason why posting random articles online affect stocks.

AI is open source and you can run it yourself locally. Also how do you plan on it replacing the internet when that's where 90% of its training data comes from? Why are you even on this board when you're less technologically literate than my deceased grandmother?

if the AI has web crawling capabilities like google bot, then the AI is online and really works similar to a search engine
but LLM currently tends to be offline and trained with outdated static data

They can't disallow genuine search/content completely or all their data will be stale stuff frozen in 2025.

Easy. First, tech has been degrading since at least 2005. Second there has been no advances in ai since 2017 and ultimately all advances since long before that habe only been inctemental.
What you're seeing now is your first taste of what we had in the lab for ages, scaled up like google did with googlenet back in the days.
