I only adopted Wayland because X11 was garbage and ruined my previous trials of daily driving linux in years past. The screen tearing, etc. The zealot resistance to Wayland encouraged me to try it out and it worked. I didn't think nvidia drivers was a legit issue, I thought it was a skill issue. That's now been solved, there have been a lot of advancements on their drivers configuration and setup in the last couple of years and a bunch of improvements on Wayland compositors. At this point I see X/Xlibre as more of a "I don't like change" thing rather than advantages over Wayland.

I don't particularly care but I do like to call X11 users tinkertrannies in jest.
