>>105588508>Substituting real people for things like streamers or AI.Probably good as long as you're not paying them anything. The gooning and alcohol keeps the loneliness away, for me.
>I want things to be better for the next generation so they have a better chance than me.Same, absolutely. I'm surrounded by miserable sacks of shit right now, but at the very least, maybe I could contribute to the world in such a way that I'm surrounded by nicer people when I'm older.
>How about your goals?Becoming effectively biologically immortal is my #1 goal. Most problems would be solved if I had more time and better health (not that I'm in bad health or anything but you know what I mean). I'm on the research career path right now. I'm particularly excited by some specific recent advancements in AI and biology and I'm quite hopeful and motivated. I'm not (that) crazy or anything, this type of research is a growing field. It does bother me, however, that it seems like so few people I know, if any, really, are as crazy as me and actually want to take the pills they discover and get them out to the public and change things. Most scientists are either low grade scam artists or are good scientists and smart people, but are perpetually safe in this mindset of only studying marginal things and keeping everything overly theoretical and avoiding big ideas for fear of sounding stupid or naive to bucket crab losers. It's been bothering me a lot lately, hence why I made this thread.
Men seem to be biologically wired to be motivated primarily be female acceptance and sex, but I think we've reached a stage in the development of our society (and potentially societies in general) where we either figure out how to save ourselves from this mess with technology that can change the game, or we get outbred by other societies earlier on in the societal development pipeline, miserable and blaming each other for the failures of a large, complex system that nobody has much control over.
