>use case?

This meme lives rent free in my fucking head, every time I think about buying some piece of technology, or saving a meme that I will probably never see again, I think of this stupid fucking picture. It really makes you realize how much shit people buy and don’t use or even need.

I really don’t need to buy anything….

Why would you ever want to drag a file from an archive to a file browser?

We're not here because we're free; we're here because we're not free. There's no escaping reason, no denying purpose, for as we both know, without purpose we would not exist. It is purpose that created us, purpose that connects us, purpose that pulls us, that guides us, that drives us; it is purpose that defines, purpose that binds us. We are here because of you, Mr. Anderson. We're here to take from you what you tried to take from us: purpose

The use case concern trolling would be easier to take seriously if GNOME was actually a software environment that cared about justifying everything it added. But it's not. It only comes up when it's something the devs don't like. They went to the Apple school of hardcoding the devs' personal preferences. What's the use case for "Ready" notifications that you can't turn off, or shilling for Secure Boot and fwupd? So lame.

Same. Ebussy is my personal mascot now.

I say this all the time at work thinking some day someone will get it. "Oh you added this new feature to the codebase, what's the use-case for that?" Or a ticket will get assigned to me and I'll comment "use-case?"

But then they just give straight forward answers because... it's a standard question in development. I'm this close to changing my slack picture to ebussy foot

I find it ironic that GNOME thought it was necessary to include a dark mode toggle in the panel while at the same time trying hard to kill off app tray icons to supposedly minimize clutter.

Of course, you should also be able to set the IP address and change keybindings from the panel. Who needs a command center anyway?

Because they aren't related to theming?
Right, let's just stick with adding a background picker to the shell. Being able to view your favorite dolphin porn pictures without opening any image viewer is super important. Our users will love this for the upcoming 49 release!
