True. But I think you should remove that dock at the bottom. I have my taskbar at the top so the applications can have the rest of the screen uninterrupted.

Last time I used XFCE it was miserable to use on a hidpi display like a 4k panel.
How has it advanced over the last year?

top and auto hide, why are you letting your os steal valuable space from you with a static toolbar?

No it was its own thing. My friend was really crazy about it back in the day but too bad he couldn't really do anything with it. I don't remember if it had some sort of DOS emulation for games or not though.

It could run DOS software afaik, but with some compatibility issues. It could also run Win3.x. One of their advertising slogans was something like "A better DOS than DOS, and a better Windows than Windows." I've never actually used it so I'm just going off secondhand knowledge.

Ngl I like that your Start Menu is text based. We could stand to go back to that as a society.

I always put the Start menu at the top. And I always switch to the Whisker menu. Below is the Dock Plank.

The pointer always appear at the center of the screen so it's irrelevant where you place the menu, also
>Alt + F2
Wow, that was hard, if you're fancy just enable the wisker-menu with the super key.

As far as i know only windows had the main menu on the bottom left, other systems either don't have a menu to begin with or the bar up (macos, os/2, beos)
