macos 10.2 had only top corners rounded, same as windows xp - only small rounded corner at the top. then from macos 10.3 / windows vista and onwards - all corners were rounded.

Notice a key difference though. Oldschool round corners have a small radius and still display the entire application client area as a rectangle. Modern round corners have a large radius and encorach into the client area. Unless an application is written with this theme in mind, your pixels get chopped and you can lose corners on buttons that make it ugly, or lose whole characters in a terminal.
