30 minutes edition.

A thread dedicated for various tips and tricks on how to bypass restrictions implemented by big tech companies. Made with tourists from other boards in mind. Feel free to add more bypasses, adblockers etc.
>How do I block ads on youtube?
Your options are:
- Ublock Origin (on browsers with manifest v2 support, like firefox or some chromium fork that still supports it)
- alternative clients (pipepipe,freetube,revanced, smarttub)
- youtube downloader (such as yt-dlp)

https://freetubeapp.io/
https://revanced.app/
https://github.com/yuliskov/SmartTube
https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp

>How do I make throwaway accounts on websites that require phone number?
Buy a disposable number that costs less than a dollar on average. You can use smspva or onlinesim. Merchants often accept anonymous payment methods.

https://smspva.com/
https://onlinesim.io/

A few warnings about those services:
- AVOID using those for serious accounts
- DO NOT use Telegram and similar applications without cloud password/2FA, since they might get recycled
- DO NOT use free numbers, they are most likely not going to work and just waste your time.

>How do I bypass paywalls on news sites?
use bypass paywalls clean. You need to install it manually.

https://gitflic.ru/project/magnolia1234/bypass-paywalls-firefox-clean

been going down this rabbit hole a lot lately, trying explore some ways that involve truly 0 corporate tracking (understandably involving severe compromises)

a few questions for the class:

1. what, if anything, can be done about sites that block VPNs? considering residential proxies but curious if any anons have tried these before

2. What about captchas? It's great that some new, sane sites are using stuff like anubis and go-away, but mCaptcha, google, and cloudflare all require either fingerprinting, ML training, or some other invasive technology. Are these just off the table?

3. anyone successfully implement "invisible" mobile internet access? from what I understand this can't be done with a SIM, and has to rely on using public wifi and tunneling it all through something bound to your device's interface

not extremely on topic but it goes hand-in-hand with this sort of stuff. thread is still young so I'll try to answer questions on accessing services too when they come up.

start business, register it in tax haven with good privacy laws, use of trusts etc. if it's good enough for billionaires it's good enough for the rest of us.

>>105601090
>. what, if anything, can be done about sites that block VPNs?
use unknown ip ranges.

yep
> anyone successfully implement "invisible" mobile internet access?
never heard of a phone not working on wifi because it doesn't have a sim. is that what you're talking about?

to be clear I understand that using Tor or some shit on a SIM doesn't mean the provider knows anything about my traffic. I mean to say I don't want any provider knowing anything about me at all, so linking my address to the card or giving a real IMEI to a tower is not ideal

>How do I bypass government wanting my money? I worked hard for it, why would I give them a cut.

1. Start a business, have it make money (the hard part)

2. Create another business in a no tax for businesses country

3. Have company #2 bill Company #1 the exact amount in profits you make in a year

4. Now you can truefully say that company #1 made no profits and it will pay now taxes

5. Company #2 now has all the profit, but doesn't owe any taxes

if you can't get an anonymous sim yeah. mobile vpn + tor. you're set. public wifi will probably restrict things like tor or completely forbid it. that's one downside. another downside is cameras around the place, if they have them. get access to a wifi point without being in visual distance / coverage by cameras. then there's all the shit that runs in the phone trying to talk to the outside world that will also leak your shit, they need to be disabled or firewalled. things to consider.

what do you mean by "anonymous SIM"? That sounds like an oxymoron. As for the rest, to be polite, you can probably assume that if someone is worried about SIM triangulation, they're already using grapheneOS.

also, I'm curious as to why you'd consider cameras? "hey that guy bought a coffee around the same time there was some encrypted traffic on port 22, let's call the cops" doesn't sound realistic

point is, all the people complaining about Nintendo's terrible practices and copyright monopoly still pay them for inadequate products. It's about not encouraging Nintendo to continue doing what they're doing.
Piracy has never been easier so there's no reason to support them; I'll never understand why people who complain the loudest never straight out tell everyone to just emulate everything.

Retarded misinformation. AdNauseam lost Google over 3 billion the first year it released because at the end of the year the ad companies request all their money back that they sent due to fake clicks. The business owners retain all their money because by law they're allowed to get it back. The extension only hurts Google because only they actually lose money. You would know that if you just watched their short video on the site or read anything related to it, corporate stooge.

Exactly. So why isn't that enough to demonstrate that your petty protests and boycotts have no measurable effect?
>Piracy has never been easier so there's no reason to support them
You want all the Netflix subscribers give you reasons why they'd rather pay for a subscription instead of pirating for free? People don't give a fuck if they're being overcharged for subpar products and services that can be revoked at any time, lmao

well, if enough people get interested in projects like AdNauseam then there may be a growth in financially conscious consumers or an increase in projects like it. Once there's a significant number of people disrupting their cash flow then maybe there will be change.
Even if few people actively actually use projects like this and make just a little dent then that's still better than no dent at all. I understand that the monetary loss is irrelevant to Google now with few people but the user experience is literally no different than just using standard Ublock; sometimes AdNauseam has better blocklists but not all the time. It's essentially Ublock with an added benefit.

Based on the nature of current consumer trends, there is no way to get a significant enough number of people to care to make any meaningful difference to their profits or to endanger the business model. Not through boycotts, for sure. These companies are busy counting their millions while some of us are busy imagining that we're actually harming their bottom line. Since somebody brought up Switch 2, I looked it up and it seems like it's smashing every sales target there is. So much for all the boycotts. There are legal initiatives like stopkillinggames.com and even though major publishers have already made several changes to their policies that can be attributed to the movement, it's looking like ultimately legislation will fall through due to not enough people caring and things will devolve back to the regularly scheduled programming of not actually owning anything, like nothing ever happened. Legal action against Ubisoft may still be a thing, but that will take several miracles to line up.
>It's essentially Ublock with an added benefit.

you can still use ublock origin in chromium (not sure if it still works in the dev releases, though). just re-enable the extension.
to (re)install it, you have at least 2 options:
>If you know a tiny bit about html you can go to the ublock extension page, the 'Add to chrome' button will be greyed out, but if you right click and inspect, then change the 'disabled' element to 'enabled' it lets you click the button like normal and it works lmao... That's how I got mine back.

just look at PPC advertising costs.
>motorcycle injury lawyer
lawyers are paying ~$200 everytime someone clicks an adsense ad on those results.
they are paying that much because it is worth it for them to represent someone that was injured on a motorcycle.
you clicking that advertisement, costing them $200 dollars, that jewgle instantly pockets, is fucked up.
do you think i actually care about lawyers here? no, but it exemplifies the point these clicks arent worthless.

heres the important part,
every single competent business that wants to compete effectively is using some form of PPC advertising now because SEO is a blackbox wildcard.
so you are fucking these people over just as much, and the funny thing is. you are effectively HARMING the businesses you actually DO care about. because google is serving you advertisements via your consumer profile, meaning - stuff that you're interested in... so you're fucking over the things you actually like. kek

I agree, I've tried convincing so many people to use FOSS or privacy-focused alternatives and only a handful went along with it. There are a stupid amount of stupid people, you're right.
Also true...the Switch 2 was a smash hit but at least it convinced a few people to get away from their blind allegiance. Maybe they'll contribute to the emulation scene.
It's hard to disagree with this post because though these movements are very positive, it's simply not enough. So really, it's whether or not you believe people should give up while they're behind, far behind, or push through to see some form of change. I simply believe it's best to keep pushing through and convincing as many people as possible no matter how slight a positive outcome may be.

Side note: I was extremely disappointed in the people harshly criticizing Nintendo yet still bought the console because they "HAD to play the new games" like it's a death sentence to pirate, disgusting.

youre a bit dense if you think google isnt capable of detecting you have the gay little plugin installed.
>bonus points for using chromium browser with it
jeets have been trying this "ill make a website with adsense and get my cousins to click it on their computers" scam for decades.
google knows. they will just refund coca cola , but not the home and garden store advertising a summer sale in your city center.

So is using the plugin useless and not worth your effort, or does the plugin work and hurt small businesses? assuming this is all (You), you're literally just changing your argument completely with each reply. hopefully I'm not just getting baited by an LLM with a thin context window right now lol

Not sure if this belongs here but youtube search results are now redirecting me to those auto-generated mixes. Not just the results marked as mixes or playlists; the regular individual video results now randomly have the mix/playlist shit added to their url sometimes.
This just started today for me. I see a few people on xitter complaining about it too so I know it's not just me.

Is there anything I can do to disable these mix urls or redirect them back to the normal video url? I have an extension that does that for shorts but I'm too tech-illiterate to make my own extension.

i'd like to remind you that i'm not even pro ads, follow the chain of posts i'm this guy >>105601917
just use uBlock. i just find its counterproductive to adblocking - the ads are rendering for you instead of being blocked at the requests level. if you just used this extension and not uBlock for example, you'd still be getting tracked to shit...
and most importantly, i wouldn't use that adnauseum shit just for it being infested with jews alone.

Adnauseum completely messes up their intention for tracking you though, if you click every ad sent to you it completely messes up their profile for that specific user. So if your argument is that you're being tracked then it's better to use adnauseum because it ruins the very reason for the tracking.

duh. btw you're right about that extension regarding privacy and ublock, I won't argue there, and again I don't even know shit about the extension. but you're very clearly beginning with the premise you want to support ("I don't like this extension"), and making shit up to try and support that viewpoint. nothing you've said up until this point was particularly cogent or based in reality, so I've been enjoying fucking with you to see if you can defend each argument (which you clearly cannot), hence all the meme arrows.

hope you enjoyed the (You)s, and I hope you realize that the friction you encounter in communicating with those around you in your daily life are a direct result of your antagonistic characterization of discussions as contests to be won. see u later space cowboy

no the anon you replied to, but you should know that ads will absolutely successfully track you simply by allowing them to render on your browser. you ARE being tracked if you allow ads to load whatsoever, even if you're "confusing" them. cool political stand, but you should know that from a personal usecase, it is explicitly less secure than blocking ads

This is very pathetic take, and a form of copium to some degree. Kinda like letting a 5' skinny jeet rape your gf because you are too scared to get hurt in the process of stopping him. Almost all modern software and services are user hostile to some degree, and you can either take from them what you deserve like a real man or get cucked like a scarred virgin who pretends to boycott them just because you are too lazy to do a 5 minute research on how to bypass a paywall.

yeah we got opnsense on the mf, though I'm unfortunately still using their modem (not sure exactly how much this matters yet). at the moment I'm working on binding an entire vlan to wireguard with some ports on my switch too which is fun. just plug into a "secure" port and you'll know that all your traffic will run through a mullvad node

It doesn't, as long as you're in true modem mode and aren't doing some silly double NAT business
