>>105608196>adelaideIt's so fucking bad here, property prices have risen to be on par with Melbourne but because of wage stagnation the average salary in SA remains ~30% less for the exact same job in the Eastern states.
I'm on 78k a year, and despite living in the cheapest possible rental unit/sharehouse and reducing my expenses to almost nothing (don't have a car and I get free public transport thanks to my job) I'm not putting aside enough to save for a house because a 10% deposit + stamp duty on anything anywhere within 100km of the CBD requires you to have 100k cash on hand (buying new off a building plan saves you on stamp duty, but you should see the state of these "new builds"; they're boxes made of concrete 10cm thick with zero insulation, in a country/state where the temperature fluctuates between 50 degrees C in the day to 0 degrees C at night, and air-conditioning is not a viable countermeasure with us having some of if not the most expensive power prices in the developed world).
