Every major thing that has come out in tech since pic rel was released is some combination of enshittification, mind poison, spyware, or bloat ware. We would all be better off if technology regressed to 2007 and remained in stasis.

Smartphones, social media, and big tech companies ruined everything.

The best era. Every new release was a huge leap forward. Apple especially was miles ahead of everyone else at the time.

Its clear now though that the iPhone is all Apple really has going for them at the moment. They went and made a fucking movie now? macOS is left for dead while Apple attempts to cannibalize sales witih the iPad Pro. A workout program that watches you through the camera?

I sunk €3000 into a MBP back in early 2017, the works, went all in on the Apple ecosystem and they dropped support for it just a few years later.

I am so burned out on this shit /g/. So tired of being some paypig to shovel ads to and extract money and data from. I am moving on to self hosting and just running Linux on a shitty old ex enterprise laptop. I might be back again in the future, but leveling down and breaking my reliance on tech megacorps has been soothing.
