Some FOSS software is superior to proprietary and some proprietary software is superior to FOSS.
The Linux kernel, all browsers and JS engines, basically all web stuff, compilers, Blender and a million other FOSS projects are superior to any proprietary alternative. Sometimes there isn't an alternative even.
But then you have CAD software, game engines and many other proprietary software that has no FOSS alternative or the FOSS alternative is inferior in every way.
You can't even pinpoint where the divide is: is it desktop users, enterprise, casual use etc. Best you can do is classify by industry where in some areas FOSS tends to be better and in some proprietary.

It's stupid to say all FOSS or all proprietary is bad based on one example. But this is 4chan so it'd be weird if OP wasn't stupid.

I didn't feel bad about pirating Dreamcast games and I never will. Fuck them. The hardware alone is enough to be angry. But what they did to every last series they had that I liked was even worse. Once they stopped making hardware they whored them out to anyone that would give them $2.

A game engine is just a tool. One that has been shown to be effective for many games and projects. It of course has limitations, but used well it can produce great results, perhaps with quality bias for products of certain types. But it's still just a tool. Use it improperly, or for use cases it either wasn't designed or optimized for, and you can easily end up with a disaster. But that's true of all game engines, and indeed of all tools.

usually the case. many such cases. and another thing is not testing properly, especially on different computers/consoles etc. If you haven't coded whatever game engine yourself you need to test on other kinds of hardware combinations just to be safe. many of these enormous budget aaa games suffer from same problems
