Literally all of these fags who rice out their Linux like this do this to show off their esoteric user interface mods online. After posting they swiftly reboot into their Windows to continue gaymen.

None of these fags do actual work with their machines in that state.

Find an old distro and sit on it without installing new dependencies. The only way to do anything on Linux. Shit OS.

This. I only use linux, debian, for both work and gaming. I once posted by xfce4 desktop in one of those threads only to receive a shit-ton of replies saying I'm not allowed to post because my setup is too boring/standard.

But I agree this is stupid, they should just say it openly because it doesn't take anything away from a kino result.

There's a 0% chance you're using vi on a regular basis. I use vim for quick one-off config work when I am already in the terminal, and emacs for longer running stuff.

Windows gets some points for surviving so long in a world dominated by cancer, but it's going to die before 2050. Since microsoft don't care about having a monopoly anymore and devs prefer unixslop, WSL will metastasize and take over its host and Windows will wind up like a zombie ant, suffering a fate worse than death.

That looks like shit.
I'd rather go back to Windows 95's UI, that with a modern app launcher would be perfection.

so long as you're running on a processor with branch prediction and speculative execution, it can.
spectre isn't a single bug, it's a class of exploit and it's inherent to how we design CPUs these days.

XBiff doesn't work with maildirs and mbox is ass. Also most people really want something like plan9's faces. 90% of your mail comes from mailing lists that you want to ignore. I have a custom program that does all this but it's not great and it's VTE only, not X.

It's truly the best DE. I had it on my first laptop back in 2005 when I was 12. I've tried dozens of others and none compare.
