Also the speeds are shittier, retention worse, quality worse. Bitching about needing to maintain a ratio is emblematic of everything wrong with public trackers. You shitters don't seed back what you download, therefore your system functions rather poorly. A few people (including me, I seed on public trackers) do all the work seeding and everyone else does all the leeching. There is also a lot of content on private trackers that you can't find on public trackers, if you're a capeshitter maybe you won't notice. I upload a lot of this stuff to public trackers and make an effort to keep it seeded. But usually as soon as I stop seeding it the torrents die.
