Samsung XCover series still have removable battery.

And microSD slots.
And a headphone/mic jack.
And physical, not under screen fingerprint readers
And multiple SIM slots
And extra, assignable buttons.

I'd take the meme /g/phone with a built in floppy disk, emergency hand crank and Serial port over a phone with only a USB-C port.

I love rolling the dice with Motorola.

Phones will return to be having removable batteries in a few years. Just hold your horses.

I blame Motorola's marketing for the original Razr. Suddenly, everyone wanted the thinnest phone they could get, which then started contaminating other devices as well.
I don't need a phone, laptop, or tablet thin enough to shave with.

yeah thick/thin is a big nothingburger for me. what i do want is much lighter and smaller phones. the comically long smartpaperweights arent funny anymore. really what i want is highly configurable/hackable slates to become the norm. fuck apple/google/samsung

I miss it. I went 2 years with a phone without plugging it in to charge. Just pop in a charged one and back to 100% in moments

Everyone puts on a case to make it thicker anyway. Imagine if you could just have a phone that was 2x or 3x as thick (like how phones with a case are), maybe put it in tough rubber-like plastic case, and have at least double the battery life for no additional space or weight.

Only 1 of those is an actual smartphone.
Here is another list but these are all niche brands without much updates if at all:

owners started buying cheap badly made batteries that would be over charged, explode, output the wrong voltage and kill the device. then thay complain to the manufacture. consumers can't be trusted to do the right thing.
