Ad blocking is an illusion. Why? Because ad blockers only block the most obvious ads. You can use ad blockers, but you’re only blocking content that’s been labeled as advertising. Take this website as an example. Most of the posts here are ads, disguised as organic posts from users. You can’t block this kind of advertising. Every day, the same products and ideas are promoted here. And you believe you’re not consuming ads just because you use an so called "ad blocker"? Why do people trust in names like Mullvad, Brave? There is no objective reason to trust these companies. Most people here trust them, because they have been brainwashed by subliminal advertising. And this kind of advertising can't be defeated with technical solutions. Ads are content and content are ads.

i guess you should connect directly to the net andcdisable your firewall as well since you can't possibly create rules for all the possible port and ip combos

Brave is pozzed crypto slop but mullvad has time and time again showed they kept their words and didn't betray their customers. I appreciate the initiative behind your post because it is true, but you need to do more research. Good products will stick out more and be promoted by word of mouth where it matters. Unfortunately you get trash like the brave browser shills mixed in or distro autism wars but that's still better than obnoxious one-sided adverts where your input simply doesn't exist.

Good thing uBlock Origin includes this thing called "element picker mode" so I can block elements on pages.

PEPSI
What's wrong anon? Is you ad-blocker broken? Maybe a little sip of PEPSI would fix that?
Oh, it won't? What a shame, you should really treat yourself to a nice, refreshing gulp of PEPSI.
Are you gonna write a post about my reckless PEPSI shilling?
It's too late, I've already injected that PEPSI crave right into your psyche, next time you'll buy groceries you won't be able to resist.

I block ads because they're annoying, not because I'm scared of being convinced to spend money on something. I am too poor for advertising to work on me.

The other day I wanted to watch something on Amazon, and I was amazed to see that the goycattle now happily pay 5 bucks a month or so to watch those dogshit bitrates with fucking ads every 15 minutes. So I just pirated the show instead, because why would anyone willingly sit there and watch ads?

I wouldn't mind banner images, but they made them so fucking annoying 20 years ago that I just block them by default. Video ads are an absolute hard no, I'd much rather stop using your service entirely.

I fucking hate pepsi, coke is better. I drink one 250ml bottle every month or two.
