Apple M3 vs. 7800X3D
Why is the M3 in my MacBook Air faster than my 7800X3D CPU when building a Unity project (compiling, processing, etc.)? Also, despite being passively cooled, my MBA gets very warm but not hot, while my AMD CPU runs at 78°C with an AIO water cooler.

>MBA M3
>16 GB Ram
>512GB SSD
vs.
>7800X3D
>32 GB Ram
>990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD 2 TB

could be a variety of reasons, what compiler are you using for each machine?

No matter if mono or IL2CPP (for WebGL) the M3 is faster.
I tested it with both compilers on both machines.

why would you expect the vcash to speed up your compiling?

i'm talking about the C/C++ compiler.

what's the GPU in the pc?

On windows it's msvc and on macOS clang (xcode). But for WebGL both OSs are using Emscripten (Clang based).

X3Ds are gaming CPUs, they're really bad at any productivity task outside gaming

The unified memory probably helps a lot.
