>industry 4.0 & iot
Bullshit and buzzwords.
>signal processing and embedded systems
Actually interesting and teaches you real skills. There ia significant risk of being outsourced to a cheaper country though.
>cybersecurity
Could be interesting if the curriculum includes stuff like malware reverse engineering, otherwise it's a waste of time.
>networking/cloud major
You fucked up by picking a meme degree.

you really should be + getting internships if you haven't already because the tech job market is tough and will only get tougher. find out which of those gets the most job openings or talk to people in the industry and see what they think. 4.0 and iot is just buzzword shit so definitely don't go into that though
there's a reason this board has an employed tech workers general and an unemployed tech workers general

>signal processing and embedded systems
Job market is a bit limited now but the niche is open for people at a raging power level.

There'll always be a need for that. CS might have some use but it's a brainlet option and iot is a buzzword.

I did a lot of job regarding security of systems(such as networks, servers and codebases) and unless you do exactly the same, cybsec means nothing. A cybersecurity special could be your office IT guy who updates Karen's laptop or do an antivirus scan when Joe visited a porn website during working hours.

So, unless you work as a security researcher, I would advise to stay away from it. There are a lot of punks in this sector.

cybersecurity. there will always be new tech old tech and code. they will always be broken or become broken. youโ€™ll be need to secure these broken tech become vulnerable to exploits. cybersecurity will never not be needed but yeah it is oversaturated with morons who donโ€™t know anything about cybersecurity. so do it anon, make us proud and good luck

We do comfy too here.
Anyways, I did embedded and DSP stuff when DSP56300 was hot. That is a while ago but the skills aremain in demand, in particular in communications stuff, particularly mobile phone tech, and also in radar tech. Defence spendings are going up so expect a lot of defence tech DSP stuff.

If you want to try your hands on this and also build a portfolio, you can add more DSP stuff to /ham/ radio tech. Most digital modes are meh or bleh except from the latest modes. It kind of helps that the waveform designer sports a Nobel Prize. See >>>/diy/ham for info, a library, and a FAQ.
