Low power devices with performance of desktops from 10 years ago.
They cost more than modern desktop that outperforms them.
Battery life that didn't improve at all (apart from ARM devices, but software there is limited)
Soldered parts that cannot be replaced.
Low quality build materials, awful keyboards, zero serviceability - just buy a new one faggot.
Currently it's more sensible to just own a desktop and a smartphone.

I am in a hotel room right now. My work is paying for me to be here. I need to be able to work here and have a computer that actually works when I go to the new building. As much as I'd like to build a powerful desktop at home I don't have any space for it. I'd still need a laptop.

I remember having a business Dell with i7 3rd gen that outperformed desktop i5 3rd gen since it was quad core. TDP sucked ass. New battery lasted 2 hours at best, and the cooling was unchanged from the standard mobile i5, so the thing ran constantly at 85-90 Celsius
