I'm a stupid nigger retard normie faggot who used windows my whole life cause I game on PC and do normie stuff.
Windows 10 was BARELY tolerable... but 11 is crossing a line to where their bloat ware dog shit has become intolerable.
I have a steam deck. I like the OS a lot and finally can play normal games on windows and not have to fix the compatibility myself.

Is Bazzite a good Linux Distro to switch my other PCs to and will a dumb dumb smooth brain like me be able to use it comfortably?

It's fine. It's just SteamOS built on top of immutable Fedora. If you want games and don't wanna fuck with autistic trash then either Bazzite or Cachy is your best bet.

Don't fall for the Linux meme, if you want something that unironically just works run a debloat script like the titus utility.

You WILL spend hours troubleshooting sim trivial bullshit that should have never broken in the first place if you use Linux, regardless of the distro.

Bazzite is immutable (pretty much means it's impossible for you to accidentally break the system with a bad software install/uninstall) just like SteamOS, so yeah if you're as stupid as you say then it's a good choice.
Can also use Nobara, also a distro tailor made for gaming specifically just like Bazzite but it's not immutable

>Must have XXXX hardware to run 11 and we are killing support for 10 this year and leaving it vulnerable!
>We deleted files and downloaded candy crush without your permission
>(Pop up chime) HEY DID YOU KNOW AVOWED RELEASED?! YOU SHOULD BUY IT RIGHT NOW!
>DON'T WORRY WHAT THAT GIANT PACKET WE SENT OUT IS OR ABOUT OUR AI OR RECALL FEATURES! COOMSOOM!
May keep a device or two that have it just incase, but overall they lost the trust I should have never gave them. I don't know if I can trust the debloat tools and frankly dont care. When you debloat manually windows over rides your decisions and re adds shit.
>Spend hours troubleshooting trivial shit on Linux
Kinda what I am worried about, but they pushed me there.
I have a comfy time on my steam deck so I am not super worried and survived windows ME & windows 8.
I do worry about what my options for Mouse and Keyboard are though.
I specifically like using a Logitech 300s and Logitech G213 keyboard which they don't make or support anymore

good luck, I tried it and decided windows is shit, but the least shit of any operating system, macOS has even more retarded lockdown design decisions but doesn't spy on you as much, and regardless of how much shilling people do, if you're autistic enough to care about using specific peripherals you're going to be autistic enough to want your settings dialed in exactly the way you want it and you're going to need to take the equivalent of an operating systems class to even start to understand how things work and make them to your liking.

when you actually try it for yourself you realize after tuning out all of the shills noise Linux doesn't "just work", it requires tinkertrooning and it's ultimately a hobby OS.

I'm like OP, switched to Linux because I hated the idea of moving to windows 11. The fact that they even conceived of a feature that screenshots what you're doing every 5 seconds and catalogs it, let alone implemented it, let alone shipped it, is fucking insane. The Deb lost scripts you speak of are helpful but it becomes a Neverending game of wack a mole. They announce a feature everyone hates, then they delay it by a few months, then the feature is released and there's a simple toggle, then your toggle gets reset every time you update, then the toggle disappears and can only be found via group policy or service menu, then that disappears but you can still disable it via this registry key. Is it actually disabled? You don't really know so you give up.
LLMs unironically solve most issues a novice Linux user will run into. For the most part casual users won't run into anything that can't be easily solved by chatgpt or grok. In fact, most users won't run into many issues at all, because most users are just in a browser. Hell, if you have instability you can ask it to give you a command to dump the logs to a file, upload it and it will literally tell you what happened.
I just switched a few weeks ago. Have only booted back into windows because I needed to quickly do something that I already had set up in windows.

anyone who says linux works is either a massive turbo autist, and/or they don't do anything meaningful with their computer. literally all they do is spend their time lurking the internet to shit up every single forum and comments section because it's a massive delusion that everything is OK when it's not. They overrun every single anti-linux forum on reddit and youtube as well like a fucking cancer shitstain on the internet.

if you're already willing to reinstall your OS, just install W10 LTSC and activate with Massgrave instead. There's a few downsides, but it's not W11, and it actually fucking works unlike linux.

I find intelligence is a highly over rated attribute. Everyone says I am smart, but I think I am average intelligence at best.
I work construction. I solve practical problems. I don't like wasting time and bloviating. It's also funny to chew out engineers who have never been humbled once in their life. Covid really reduced the quality of engineers in the world.

So I'm a dumb dumb smooth brain cause simple = happy and I enjoy the beauty of a simple life.
>Skills on tech
I am absolutely useless on apple. I fucking hate their trash OS and ecosystem.
I am pretty decent on windows, good at monitoring stuff and can troubleshoot most issues with a quick search and follow directions. Can build my own PC. ETC. Standard babies first Linus tech Tips stuff.
Linux has been intimidating cause there is a lack of support. I can follow instructions to fix a problem, I can't code my way out of compatability driver problems.
But since then, Steam OS has stepped up Linux usability. I dunno what it is but the steam OS is just super comfy for me and I've only seen it get better and better so I have massive faith in the future of Linux.
>>105657032
The future of Linux is construction workers who shit on smug tech illiterate engineers! Fuck yeah!
I think you guys are gonna see waves of growth. I worry about certain things like plug and play compatability and hardware compatability, but if the improvements keep coming and stuff like proton layers keep making everything run great then more people are gonna come over....
And god help you.
Us normies ruin everything

Yeah that's where I was at for a while till steam OS.
It's just comfy, finding fixes and figuring stuff out is fun, and overall most stuff works.

It's a combination of windows sucking AND steam OS being genuinely fun and comfy.

No it's trash like all Linux devices.
The best suggestion I can give you is to buy a cheap mini pc and put Linux on that and use it as a web browsing machine / server / general computer and just get a dock to switch all your peripherals when you want to gayme on your PC which you should leave in sleep/hibernate when not needed. You'll eventually make up most of the costs in electricity by not running a full tower all the time just to browse the web.
You'll burn out really quick if you try the dual booting cope or get really annoyed really quickly if you try to rawdog Linux without understanding what a piece of shit it can be.

Just know that there's likely 3 different versions of the program you want on the package manager but the real one you want is from the internet anyway because it's updated and you got to get the one for the distro your distro is based on and that peeping into a programs directory is not a thing anymore because Linux spreads files far and wide across it's file system. So no more editing config files, mods, looking for hidden assets, moving save files etc. If the programmer didn't do it for you then you're not going to do it. Maybe it's possible to read a 20 page html file somewhere to figure out how to do some of these things for your particular program but you're not gonna do it.

>>105657172
you're either a paid shill or a retard who last tried linux 10 years ago. an immutable fedora distro like bazzite is literally simpler and more user friendly than windows and you don't need to run le debloat script to get rid of half of the shit you paid for.

I literally put my grandma on it because all of the bloatware popup faggot shit in windows kept causing problems and she'd call me at 11pm and read out an error box and ask me if she should click OK or if it was a virus. because she got a virus clicking on an ad 12 years ago and has been paranoid ever since. Gaming distros are pointless because all your controller drivers and such are already part of the Linux kernel.

My biggest issue with Bazzite is that it's even more locked down than Windows. Bazzite won't let you install stuff outside from the app store, because that requires elevated permissions. Aside from your user directory, everything is read-only.

As someone who's actively used linux for 9 years now and has been using windows more as of late, unless you're a power user or tech savvy person, no distro is a place for you, and arch will always be the clean debloated system bitches here dream about and you will never use bc you can't read.

Windows is an almost perfect classic field tested OS that not only just works, but prevents you from fucking up shit like a retard.
and if something breaks, it will be on them, your data isn't unrecoverable, it has a settings backup function, they offer onedrive. if you think about all the benefits, telemetry and updates is a small price to pay. in a whole year of heavy windows 11 use, i haven't had any of the issues you're mentioning after debloating it and setting it up.

if you need better hardware, you should just get a job and upgrade, otherwise you will go through a living hell for the most mundane tasks and get only half the system windows is with the same amount of bloat as actual useless programs you can't remove unless you know what each of them do when using any distro that's not arch, void or gentoo.

>anyone who says linux works is either a massive turbo autist, and/or they don't do anything meaningful with their computer. literally all they do is spend their time lurking the internet to shit up every single forum and comments section because it's a massive delusion that everything is OK when it's not. They overrun every single anti-linux forum on reddit and youtube as well like a fucking cancer shitstain on the internet.
i've been using linux since 2008, it has never been in a worse state lol. so many regressions, problems and missing features because of not enough contributors. linux desktop is a joke

it won't really matter what you pick because you'll be back on Windows within a week, so just pick whichever looks cool out of the box.

Immutable distros (like Bazzite) are overrated. It makes sense for a consumer handheld game console, but for a desktop it's pretty suffocating. The likelihood that you're going to bungle your system by messing around with your root is very low (you aren't retarded enough to delete System32, are you?), and if you need to do anything with your system beyond installing Flatpaks, you're expected to use containers, which are arguably a lot more complicated for a beginner to grasp.
