I don't know if this was always the case but I feel like front panel ports always have some bullshit going on with them, I never use them and just plug shit into the motherboard. I have my entire front panel not even connected to the motherboard, just the power button

perhaps that is true. this case is 10 years old. so i guess it did well. it's just annoying because i don't know what happened, i think a pin just bent and i pushed a plug in without realizing it and boom, it's over. prob not worth replacing
