2000s were already pozzed compared to 90s. 9/11, Israel wars, financial crises, "made in China" outsourcing, neoliberalism/neocons, SUVs, blingshit pop wiggerdom, ProTools mallcore buttrock, "reality TV" degeneracy, Walmart, McDonald's, chemtrails, fluoride, trucker hats, popped collars, GMOs, American Idol, women tattooing logos on their asses, etc.

I hated XP so much I switched to Linux full time. It's crazy to see people talking about it like it was good.

Fucking Windows 98 wasn't even good but at least it looked professional and everything followed CUA.

shitpost start

i think the realization came in the 70s, some psychologist fag came to the conclusion that the human panic reaction only ebbs off after 3 days. because of flesh, blood and bones and shit. so turns out you need to calm down for three days to have normal hormone levels again. during the 3 days you're in panic mode. you're in constant panic mode when you consider all the bad news you are being bombarded with, that's why everything feels like shit to some people since then

shitpost end

Actually, most of Europe and a good chunk of Asia already banned water fluoridation since it lowers IQ, is mutagenic and causes chromosome damage. Read more:

>This problem is more prevalent in countries with presence of natural fluoride belts that extend from Turkey to China and Japan through Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan increasing the chances of both dental and skeletal fluorosis and hence increasing the focus toward defluoridation. This historical review highlights the distribution of fluoride worldwide and in India and also discusses about the various claims of the antifluoride lobby.
We don't have naturally high levels of fluoride in our water, and IIRC in the handful of places where we do, they already do not fluoridate the municipal water supply.
We've also got like 0 fucking incidence of skeletal fluorosis, the only actual reason to be up in arms about it.

That's not really an argument. The situation may have already started to worsen in the 00's but it wasn't as bad as it is now. No one is going to miss the 20's.
Also, if you were better educated, you'd know that the 70s, the 80s and the 90s were just as full of meaningless wars, global oligopoly mafia shenanigans, glownigger-initiated coups, Vietnam, Afganistan, Korea, Cuba, South America, Mccarthyism, black panthers shit, experimenting on unwitting civilians, drugs, shitty black music psyops to increase incarceration, etc.

See, that's the other thing. We're talking about the setting here, not personal experience.
People get this wrong all the time. "You're nostalgic about 20 years ago because you were healthier and your dick still worked, not because it was an objectively better time." People miss the music, the culture, the way strangers used to look and act, the general vibe and how their city felt "different, but in a good way". The story of your own life is something different, apart from this, but it doesn't exist in a vacuum.

The setting depends on your own choices, specially on a time where you can choose the music you listen to

The way you perceives your city depends on your own mood, sometimes I see mine like Harry Potter's London, sometimes it's a dirty place

>People miss the music, the culture
The 00s were just as much of a boring consoomer hell as the 2020s aside from chain restaurants having better food. People just watched TV to fry their brains instead of Tiktok. And the late 20th century was even worse, violent crime back then hit its peak but there are countless boomer fucktards who say they "felt" safer.
The only thing that's significantly changed since then is smartphones. That's literally it. Everyone is carrying around a goyrectangle and has social media accounts and it collectively wears on their psyches, which is why people are more bitter and neurotic than they've ever been.

It's not about putting a positive spin, but shaping your worldview into something pleasing
I won't ask what I would do when stabbed, since we are talking about something way simpler than that, a mere "bad vibe" on the city

You're the one who consider it a bad one in the first place, have you considered that in the other side of the spectrum, there's those weird woke leftists who think the world is super now?
Find a middle ground that's comfortable for you instead of living in constant pessimism

The truth is what I said before: >>105663017

Fuck all you faggots. The past was better because it was. The future will be worse because it's planned. I don't care about this fucking planet anymore. I only seek to quicken my own death so I can become anime magical girl in the next life. I'd do it with rope but I'm a glutton for punishment and it would make the people around me sad.

With any luck something will randomly kill me quickly soon or my nightly attempts to kill myself in car wreck will finally work instead of improving my skill as a driver. I'm starting to suspect I just keep resetting at the last checkpoint without realizing it because there is no way I've managed to slide around at 100+mph all these years on the mountain roads without flying off the mountain yet.

This place sucks and I'm sick of you people pretending it doesn't.

>nostalgia is mental illness.
I've been thinking this too recently. Technology was so much better in 2000s. I'd give anything to have W7 back.
But trying to carbon copy what existed back then is gay asf. Using unsupported technology is a pain, like insisting on having a flip phone when you need certain apps for work and banking. Skinning modern software to look like something it isn't is like a tranny pretending to be a woman.
What will really save us is adopting the same philosophy they had and applying it to modern applications. Have intentional but experimental designs. Skin your apps to have it's own personality. Don't be afraid to reinvent the wheel.
