>Using search operators successively has you go through a captcha
>Google trying to push their AI search engine
>Uses the same content mill sites as a source
How is there so much on the internet but so difficult to find? I might as well just do as people did in 1950 and just scourer a library.

They push shit results up so you spend more time on search page where they can show ads, there was an internal email that mentioned it too

It's just capitalism I mean it's the same thing that happens everywhere throughout history since the first seed was sown. Some people build some stuff and then the people they fled from come knocking and say hey you owe us money also All of that is ours now. And then the new place with all the gold and diamonds and women becomes just like the crummy dreary shit hole the dorks who built it ran away from and on the March of History goes.

Google is a mirror.

I find what I'm looking for instantly because I only use the internet for intellectual pursuits.

You get bogged in consumer advertising and useless AI generated slop because you are retarded.

Yeah basically it's just like those stupid recipe websites where some sweaty man in India is injecting a fictional story about a fictional woman and fictional New England and her fictional families love of this particular roast beef recipe so that way you have to scroll and see advertisements for Trump commemorative gold coins or whatever.

I promise you the same thing is going to happen with LLMS where the information it's going to give you will be subtly altered to include sponsored results in addition to normal results. And then you know eventually the stuff will cost what it actually does after enough dependency has been fostered which will be like a car payment and you'll still be getting both politically and economically poisoned information fed to you at all angles.

If your lucky given how they will literally limit searches for anti-Semitism reduction nowadays.
That is to say - if you dislike Israel.

Intellectual pursuits are spammed off page 1 by Content mill shit nowadays that isn't even relevant.
I get content for algorithmic or computing related issues that isn't even relevant to either, neither has anything string related that is relevant and is merely just an ad at this stage.

But see >>105666640
Apparently Google is known for this.

This is not true, as much as I hate some of the more retarded and dark sides of Wikipedia. It usually points towards actual books on most subjects. In any case, marginalia.nu exists. Basedest search engine out there.

Its already like that.

I haven't seen ads yet, but I have seen misinformation intentionally injected like firms are intentionally releasing incorrect information publicly because they know every jeet nigger is scraping the entire internet for data to feed his bot with zero attention paid to the validity of the information.

This is how the AI war will be won. This is how AI monopolies will emerge.

>firm A pays for the real data
>firm B scrapes intentionally incorrect data
>firm B gives wrong answers
>customers leave firm B for firm A
>firm A gets more money
>firm A buys more data
>this incentives more companies to hide data and sell it to firm A
>the spiral continues until only firm A is used

who the fuck is even paying for that adspace though
like most people just tune out ads or block them, everything relating to internet advertising just seems like a waste of time and money

First of all, stop using Google. At the very least proxy through a metasearch engine. Second, yeah this shit sucks, I keep running into these issues and I keep feeling that I'd be better served just asking an AI search engine about whatever dumb question I have.

The rough part of it is that Perplexity has been far more reliable than any search engine for me as of late. Unless I know exactly what I'm looking for I just go there.
Anybody know of a good locally hosted option for it, or would that be difficult to pull off?
