This i use an s9 ultra with kb and mouse. Android desktop needs to run Linux apps in real desktop mode. DeX isnt enough. I often just use chrome remote desktop to access my home Windows pc instead

Chrome OS was the part of Google betting on the web taking over everything and making an OS based around that. Apple lead in the opposite direction with the iPhone and apps. Apple won and therefore Android also. A lot of zoomers barely touch the web which would have seemed a very bizarre prediction in 00's when everything was moving towards web based

Only productive thing you can do on android is fire up rdp client and remote into windows machine.
"Apps" are just so crippled, I tried using it for work on the move it's just not doable.

I don't like how you're right about this.
And it's the same as always, anything to make a buck.
It will just be another way to appeal to normies by oversimplifying tech.

>it doesn't effect you
It does, it's always the usual pattern too:

>normies use it first
>companies then buy for their employees
>companies will eventually require employees to use it
>companies will start making their end product rely on it
>now consumers can only buy, use, or do things when using it
>original product support and compatibility is slowly discontinued
>now using original product will make you an outsider and weird

Apple is notorious for this, but I guess it's Android doing it too now.

It's pointless since 99% of tablets still use USB-C 2.0 for some reason, so no HDMI output.

I used bluetooth mice and keyboard on my S3 hooked up to an monitor, wasn't as awesome as they make you think.
