I work for some big tech company, and we steal code from all sorts of licences.
The idea that a licence would protect your work is laughable.
Literally, just copy your code, remove the stuff I don't plan on using, and run it through an LLM, asking it to improve the code and make it more Pythonic (I only work with python nowadays). No one can tell they are the same...

In that case, they were using the whole project and were being cunts in not offering manpower to contribute to something that's essential for their product. I myself have been hired to "help reduce the tech burden" caused by those companies. They pay me something like 30 hours to help them, and I pick the issues I feel like doing or that I know I can do in the hired time and do a merge request. If the maintainer wants to accept my help, it's up to them.

open source licensing doesn't matter at all in terms of big corporations, because breaking those terms is not a crimminal offense onto itself in most places in the world, therefore you would have to file a civil lawsuit against someone who breached the terms of it. You will never win a court war against a corporation that can spend hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars on the best in class lawyers that will appeal as long as they want. Even if you took all the money from all the freetroons of this world and multiplied it by 10, its still not nearly enough to win in a long term if they really want to use your code.

The worst part is that libxml2 is shittiest library I ever used and there's subhumans who think it's okay to depend on it for next billion dollar project.
