What is the /g/ consensus about W3Schools?
I havent't used it in a decade, and I'm wondering if it's a good or bad resource to learn programming, such as Django.

Have you used that site recently?

It goes straight to the point, but you don't use many details from it compared to the official documentation or books such as Python Crash Course by Eric Matthes.
So it's good for learning a basic structure of a Django project, but it's not as good if you want to learn best practices and advanced techniques.

"Learning by Doing" is starting a real project right now and asking everything to LLMs, get with the times

this
if you really need help, skim the docs and also try working through the https://exercism.org/tracks/ for what you want
(download the challenges and make sure you understand how they work and ask llm to explain it if you don't get it)

It's an okay resource to learn, but for language or API references you're much better off using MDN.

They have some bad practices, like naming files such as "myfirst.html" instead of something more professional and descriptive like "index.html" or "members.html"

It's literally fine. Don't overthink it. If it's insufficient for your needs at any given time just refer to another website
