Why are Macs so barbaric compared to simple Linux distros?

once you're inside the apple ecosystem you won't be able to get out easily and therefor are more tolerant to abuse

I don't care about linux trannies at all, you are all irrelevant and can't produce single good variation of linux or decent desktop environment, freeturds are all communist jews like Richard Kikeman. Wake me up when troonlux just works and doesn't have constant tranny chud civil war over minuscule garbage, focus on your garbage being useful first. Also stop being poor.

making aur packages is not trivial. you have to read and study very carefully the rules. and deal with authentication setups. i have some packages published but i lost the auth so I can't update them but no problem since they're git based.

making PKGBUILDs is quite easy for personal use at least. Better than having to git clone/pull make clean ./configure cmake or whatever every single time, something you have to do in a Mac as well if you're trying to use an obscure program that doesn't provide installers or binaries.
Dunno about publishing though.

Did DHH even use a Mac?

brew install --cask zoom

Done, you have installed Zoom on your Mac.

We should gatekeep normies from using Linux. Most Linux stuff is holding on a good faith: most repositories aren't really moderated, especially stuff like AUR. When normies will discover Linux everything will turn to shit, just like npm repository which basically hosts malware
Anonymous No.105693537 [Report]
>>105693010
What about just making packages for yourself? I can easily make my own ebuilds for stuff on gentoo. I don't need an AUR if I can just install anything I want.

I have a 4070 super and im doing just fine on plasma Wayland. The only things that dont work are: variable refresh rate, 4k 60hz monitors via HDMI 1.4 (no yuv 420 support), sleep and suspend, 100% performance on DX12 games (20% performance loss compared to windows), DLSS framegen on some games, DSR, DLDSR, and reflex on some games. Other than that it works perfectly

Wayland works awesome on my GTX 1650, the Arch installer set it up correctly without me having to do it. I do switch back to X11 when I need extra performance (mostly when I'm gayming because Wayland takes a 20% tip from the performance), but for general desktop usage, Wayland is all there. If all you do is browse 4chan (as most of you do, y'all are unemployed and act like gaming is a sin), Wayland will work and will work fine for you.

Can someone please explain what's going on in the right one? Are you supposed to drag the icon into the folder? At what point do you do this? Is it the entire installation process?
Anonymous No.105696691 [Report] >>105699885

I'd just like to interjeet for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, POO/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, POO plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning POO system made useful by the POO stains, logs
sharts and vital system compoonents comprising a full loo visit as defined by POOSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the POO system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of POO
which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are
not aware that it is basically the POO system, developed by the POO Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a
part of the system they use. Linux is the corn kernel: the program in the system
that allocates the large intestine's resources to the other programs that you run.
The corn kernel is an essential part of a digestive system, but useless by itself;
it can only function in the context of a complete digestive system. Linux is
normally used in combination with the POO operating system: the whole system
is basically POO with Linux added, or POO/Linux. All the so-called "Linux"
distributions are really distributions of POO/Linux.

yes.
you move the program into the programs folder by dragging it in.
BTFOs package managers.
No need to dump 8 billion .so files into random directories across your filesystem.
Until FOSStards realize that package managers killed their operating system before it ever got off the ground they will continue to lose. Forever.

I turned on wayland session on Ubuntu (latest LTS iirc) of GNOME with RTX 4060 Ti and my chrome window started flickering in less than 30s. If this is people’s first impressions of linux it isn’t great. I will regret installing a tinker distro like arch later but I’ll try to see if it is better. Also is it possible to play gaypass doom dark ages on linux? It’s the only thing keeping me on windows for the moment.
