I haven't had any krashes since 5.10 myself. For me the big problem with KDE that makes it completely unusable is that Breeze is extremely ugly, and all other themes are also mostly ugly but additionally break with updates as well. I actually think libadwaita's design language is pretty sane, especially with the bold text, hate it when UX designers pretend pixels are still as big as they were in the 640x360 days. But everything else about that ecosystem is really bad and user-hostile KDE is ugly but at least you're allowed to have an opinion about how you want your computer to act. Oh well..

>>According to a former employee, Apple kept the Mac's M1 chip under wraps for ten years before it launched. A former Apple engineer reveals the secret 10-year plan behind the M1 chip This kind of compartmentalized secrecy is classic Apple - they operate on a strict need-to-know basis where even internal employees are often unaware of major projects happening elsewhere in the company.

The problem with open source they don't have lead designer, so they have bunch of tinker-trannies trying to come up with something centralized. Basically KDE and Gnome needs to have lead designer that will do 60-80% of design system, and let the plebs tinker tranny the rest, tldr, way too many pajeet cooks and small kitchen, so the result is always kde/gnome curry.

GNOME has a lead designer. Dunno about KDE though.

The only thing that has lead is the brain of Gnome users.

What's kde's excuse for being both ugly and buggy?

I've used kde for a long time now, and this is probably the best release they've had in a while. on 6.3 the wayland session was unusable due to freezing on my machine, 6.4 doesn't have this issue, honestly I didn't even notice the transition until I noticed my custom resolutions weren't applying.

That's a shockingly good clone, granted it's been over 10 years since I used Vista/7 but nothing is immediately popping out at me as uncanny even the UAC dialog is a solid "close enough."
